National Stroke Aid (NASAID)
National Stroke Aid (NASAID) is a non-profit making entity organized for community service especially the prevention of stroke and rehabilitation of stroke survivors. NASAID was registered on the 31st of January, 2019 under the registrar of societies of the Republic of Zambia. Then on 17th May, 2021 we transferred to the Registrar of Societies. It is fully certified and also affiliated with the world stroke organization.
NASAID has a Vision to promote Cardiovascular Health and Cerebrovascular Health through advocacy influencing policy, providing information tools and support. Its mission is to reduce the rise of premature deaths as a result of stroke attack and promote the adoption of healthy living in daily lifestyle health.
NASAID has goals aimed at reducing non-communicable diseases (NCDS) burden in Zambia and ultimately on the entire nation's health care system especially those who are highly at risk of being attacked by stroke. NASAID has objectives to provide stroke awareness, provide rehabilitation for stroke survivors, health expositions, advocate for stroke survivors, provide healthy food supply and demonstrations, and provide community preventive health and education and sensitization, also community based rehabilitation.
The focus and importance of NASAID is that the organization exists as a helping hand to the helpless, a platform for all who have a heart for stroke survivors, a center of influence, a custodian of resources for the needy stroke survivors primarily and a window of hope in relation to the prevention and rehabilitation of stroke.
