In Nov 2011 I went through a TIA (transcient ischmemic attack) and 7 months later survived from a severe stroke. I only had the scan after the stroke, which showed the TIA before. I’ve read some media articles that say TIA and stroke are the same. The same for a few conversations with stroke survivors. All people should know the difference. Please help us to understand.

Bottom line: With TIA, people recover because temporary blood stoppage
returns to normal; with stroke, most of the people are left with some
      deficit.
