It depends on your body composition but no matter what, we all need at least 7 hours a night. The CDC estimates that nearly a third of Americans are chronically sleep-deprived, even though they may feel fine. My sleep has gotten so poor since March that my doctor put me on a low dose of Trazadone last Friday. I’m now getting 8 hours without feeling drugged when I wake up and I’m already seeing a difference

Hi, my stroke was 11 years ago too and I’ve been living on my own for the last nine. Things I can’t do without in the kitchen:SCISSORS- several good pairs. Not only for opening bags but for chopping food like spaghetti, salad, etc. Most important thing I use.A jar holder-https://images.dlf.org.uk/mee/products/full/0002124-0108837-44315.jpg
A cutting board with nails to hold veggies and fruits so you can cut and corner walls to keep bread from sliding as you put spreads on it: https://www.rehab-store.com/p-waterproof-cutting-board.html?gclid=Cj0KCQjww_f2BRC-ARIsAP3zarEatJ4iOHrtK72Oe8M8tsEP6VdV97K2fVx_Jw9-MS9es0UTzup9H4MaAuMgEALw_wcB

It’s just really important that the discussion don’t spiral into gripe sessions. We definitely need to express our feelings but then be encouraged and lifted up, not simply have others wallow in the mud with us. A huge part of recovery is attitude.

There is ALWAYS hope! Just remember any step forward, no matter how small, is still a step forward. After I broke mt pelvis in November, I was in the hospital for three months. The weakness and feeling like you’ve hit the ceiling is normal but not immovable! One day at a time. Don’t focus on the negative but the fact that you’re still here for a reason. :)Kelly

I’ve had the opposite problem. I live in Georgia- the pollen capital of the
world. Since my stroke, the pollen doesn’t bother me at all! So weird…
