January 19, 2023 at 9:06 amHi Tshidi. I am for aphasics having a place to improve. I like your idea but I don’t know anything about Toastmasters so my question: Is that the correct group
or the only one? I like the concept. Keep it up! GeneSent from my iPhone

September 6, 2021 at 5:15 pmTo all,
I felt like Gu.
Because of ignorance of aging and about strokes, the time which was probably was wasted and went by too quickly.
I definitely feel that more could have been done, if I were not so ignorant.
But that is water under the bridge. The ignorance of others should not be. Ignorance must be erased.

To all,
It seems that everyday is different. My stroke was in January of 2011.
The treatments available now seems to be more numerous than then and a bit confusing. So I think of that. Occasionally, I wish that I had the stroke at a different time. But now is now.
The daily challenges of each day is quite different from day to day. I think that hourly or even changes by the minute are baffling put they all seem to pass.
My long term goal is to erase ignorance about (normal) aging and put into context strokes, TBI, etc. Along the way, prevention, what to do (& when) and questions will be answered. This has been my mission but other ideas keep occurring.
I think that if your mind is operational the thoughts will be dealt with in a satisfactory way. If one can not deal with the thoughts independently or in a group, go see a professional.
An advocate,

Hi Dan,
I’m going to think about it all.
In the meantime, I like the glove idea. The experience can be written about. Let’s make the “glove time” longer. I think that reflecting on it will produce some good or great ideas. We can make it home work from
one of our group meetings.I think that the “glove” experiment is worth doing because it shows how the deficit manifests for each of us.
Second idea: The education piece must be started as soon as possible (we can only teach based on present knowledge but that’s okay). I think that normal aging, prevention of brain injuies and strokes, and first aid
for the aforementioned should be taught in all the schools at every level. Where do we start?I love philosophy and some must be done, but I also think I’m a do’er.
Thanks,
Gene

Hi Dan,
I like the way you have developed the discussion topics.
Kele has the right idea. Education. If we get rid of ignorance, tolerance becomes acceptance.
I think that acceptance would be a better place because with acceptance, the ignorance
in tolerance is mostly eliminated.
I think that tolerance still supports some ignorance.
I’ve always said that education of the masses is good for everyone.
Thanks for letting the juices flow.

Hi Joyce,
Thanks for the information on COVID-19.
I hope that gathering the info does not lead to a high personal cost.
I have to agree with you on dumb Trump! He is incomplete but doesn’t know it.
Right now, even the best people on diseases are stumped or at least the knowledge is incomplete, but the incompleteness is known.
Thank you,

Dan,
First, I would like to see diagnosing of strokes and calling 911 in
all first aid programs.
All consequences of ignorance are critical.
Next could be a meriad of possibilities,

May 15, 2020 at 6:48 ambd of ed means board of education. I observed political process to have an item in the curriculum, but it doesn’t seem to work! help!!!!
Perhaps I should state my goal….. It would be that all people know what is normal for an age, then what a stroke is. Gene
